It's That Tine of the Month

This morning I turned the shower on without realizing the head was tilted just enough to send a blast of cold water at my fully clothed body, soaking the rest of the bathroom in the process. I'm extremely frustrated today, but I refuse to believe it has anything to do with the minor significance of this date:

Valentine's Day.

I've never been one to refute it's purpose due to the fact that I've been perpetually single since the beginning of time...(well, excluding the multiple high school dates and one blind date in which I ended up dating a midget, lesbian, gnome girl that kept buying me a lot of treats and my movie ticket entrance to some mediocre movie that I can't even remember [whoa, run-on]) rather, there are fond childhood memories linked to this day; such as the time I won "best valentine holder" (see also: a shoebox scattered with red hearts and heaps of silver glitter) in the second grade. Or the year the lovely girl I had a crush on wrote "you're cute" in my Lion King valentine.

Indeed, these poignant recollections stored away in my long term memory base are what truly makes my February the 14th, every year, special. Well, that is, until I find the right individual of course. In the meantime, I have plenty of other things to keep me busy, like my education, art, and now, my newly discovered love for gardening and organic food.

Now I'd best be off before the liquor store closes. Happy Valentines, to all of you, all my wonderful, sexy, livejournal friends. lolz.

Happy Valentines Ranny! Those are good stories. I was never big on it either because I was one of those kids with the empty mailbox taped to the front of the desk. I always remember hoping I'd get more than three. Then in high school I'd see all the other girls getting balloons or flowers taped to their lockers, or bears. Then they'd get several bags of candy from either boys or friends. This was the first valentine's day I actually got/did something for. And it totally made up for the past because girls will tell me what they had done for them, and then I can retort with such a wonderful story and get nasty looks from them for a week. Though I will join you in spirit tonight in the liquor store. <3

aww, lolol, best. valentine. ever...even though I am not much of a fan of Star Wars, lol, but yes, thank you dahlin'! I do like the idea of valentines day, as I used to get treats and even carnations and one year a big, white, bear (wtf) in high school...but now in college...I became an apathetic fool, who only focuses on art...and now...my demo reel, hence me M.I.A (here on livejournal for a while).

I am just a simpleton and I am perfectly content celebrating V-day with my friends. Afterall, friendships are a part of v-day <333!

I'd get stuff from my parents. I enjoy even now buying cheesy valentines from Target (this year was scary Christian Bale-Batman valentines with pictures of him about to punch you in the face with slogans like "Hope your valentines day is A BIG HIT!") and a big bag of good candy and handing them out to friends. I did today and some people looked really geniunely happy to get one from a friend even though they had no romantic interest. People always mis-interpret the idea of the holiday.

You're so sweet and the cheesy cards are the best! OMG. I once got some Power Ranger v-day cards with Comic Sans text on them that said 'HYA! HAVE A RANGERIFFIC VALENTINES!" Awesomely bad, to the max. haha.

SURVIVORZ?! Dude that makes me want to dance.

And HEY. I've always been meaning to ask you why you never post your animations. You're an animator! I want 2 c!

I am so happy to hear that, you had me worried! Oh, and my animation! lol, the reason I haven't posted any is cos I've never really ever finished my whole little animation ideas for my classes.

I have for some...but those were all done on the capture machine and I don't know how to import them since they were recorded on a VHS tape.

My flash and after effects animations are yet to be finished. My flash one is almost done...but I felt that I needed some more scenes to really finish the story...that one was the bug one...with the caterpillar who ultimately becomes a butterfly and flies off to safety in avoidance of being a meal to a spider. Don't know if you saw that post a long time ago! D:

My other one was about the 'Can-phone' characters. It was a very ambitious project for just eleven weeks to complete...along side all my other classes...so I ended up not truly finishing it. I ended up putting it on the side until I graduate and do it on my own leisure. Right now, I am just working on my demo reel project and doing character designs, background designs, and just figuring my final design for the whole piece. I have the story down...I am finessing the creative part of it. lol.

I will post animations though (just once I finalize and make them look really nice and presentable) c:

Woah, flash back! I'd recognize that purple critter anywhere. I think my favorite character was Cindy the Loon because she had these really awesome telekenetic powers like Carrie.

Wonderful drawing by the way.

I have simillar experiences each time i hop into the shower. i have to make sure the shower head is pointed towards the ground before i get in because it takes the water a few seconds to heat up. Sometimes i forget and get a full blast of water head on and i want to DIE. freezing.

How's your animated short going for your portfolio? Any PIXAR aspirations in the new future?

Cindy the Loon? Cute, but (insert buzzard sound here) wrong, lol, her name is Shirley the Loon. How could you forget. I am verily disapointed in you, Andrew. D: haha, just kidding. Yeah, I liked her too, especially that one episode homaged to 'Carrie' where Shirley gets all freaky when she gets drenched with red punch. ha.

Oh, and my short, I am still working on character designs, I can't stay satisfied with them...you see, i am a very picky bastard. I have yet to make a post with my animatic and all, (which I have promised countlessly from time to time). I just want to make a big ass post with character model sheets, background designs, and animatic, together, so that everyone can see the process and idea all at once. I think that would be nice. Plus, I have school and just ended midterms...so its been a k-hole ever since I started this Winter quarter of school. D:

As for Pixar; not quite there, yet. haha, my teacher recommended me to his friend for an children book illustration job. I don't know how I'd balance everything but I am willing to give it a shot. I need the money :O

Boy i'm sorry, i can't type or read AT ALL today. i mis-read your previous comment to my journal and spelt loads of stuff wrong in this one too.

Thanks for the heads up. I had a feeling i was getting it totally wrong with the name. hahah.

You're not an idiot or anything! I'd love to see the process you go through to get all that done. It sounds really intricate. I say take the children's book illustration job. I think you can never have too many oportunities to expose your work and besides the time it takes to do it, i think you'd really get a kick out of seeing your stuff in print.

No problem, atleast you got the Loon part right. hehe. Yeah, I know, its something very exciting, some of my friends have had that experience to have their comics published. What a rewarding feeling, that would be!

Oh, and the process is not complex...its just time consuming. I think the animating part is going to make me officially insane. I have shorts that I should post on here too...they're incomplete, but it will atleast demonstrate you my animating skills.

I have a lot of drawings I should post...but I have no time...but then again, I feel so pressured to post something cos I don't want my journal to be all lame. haha. I don't know what I want! AH!

Wow, I'd so snatch your heart post it's if I was to take the train over in C-land and sell them on E-bay and make a lot of green. lol. I got your card a while back and I loved it!

I can clearly see the resolution difference from my card with yours, much more sharper. I just need to get a new computer, the one I currently have has been in this household since I was in 8th grade...and it runs on a Celeron with 64mb of ram. If I were to work with a resolution of 300 dpi, it would go kaput. Its a piece of shit and I can't do effin' nothing on it. D:

But soon...then I'll send you a nicer, sharper, card c:

lolz. aww, very sweet of you to say, Dru! Its been a while and I need to give you some music. I don't think you had these songs...cos if I can (vaguely) remember, I didn't see them in your extensive music collection on aim.

I have my favorite version of S Club 8's 'Don't Tell Me Your Sorry'. I think you'll like it from the original CD version from 'Sundown'.

You get my 'O RLY?' icon. lolol. Oh! One more thing; I love the 'Girls Aloud' new cd cover for 'Whole Lotta History'. Very inspiring cd covers...all of them...I meant to comment on that journal entry you made a couple days ago, but I just didn't get the chance too D: Their covers make me want to draw them.

I loved those old shoe box creations, I wish we could all still make them, but making it for one sympathetic parental card you have to put in yourself doesn't seem to be the most up-bringing conclusion to the activity. :( Still, number one during good times like that must be the number one most awesome memory of being number one. Woo! Hopefully the store'll stay open for ye just a wee bit lawnjher~
And love to Fifi, and love to you loving Fifi! I'll have to be the voyeur this year whilst your entertainment slash love affair endures! Good times~

Oh, Nick-Supreme, how I've missed your presence! I once took a pillow case as my Valentine card and treat holder. It was dull and tawdry, but it got the job done! Unfortunately, the copious amounts of heart lollipops melted inside and made my cheap valentine purse all sticky with the caramalization of the red melted sugary substance. boo-hoo. D:

I love your new icon, is that from your collage done a while back? Ta-ta, my potato de couch amour~ I loved when Fifi used to say that and I miss Tiny Toons. :S
